So We saved the children of Israel from degrading suffering 30 (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
