(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
