The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man, 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
