This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 Warn your close relatives 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
