If they should reject you, say, "My deeds are mine and your deeds are yours. You are not accountable for my actions, nor am I accountable for what you do." 41 And among them are some who listen to you, but can you make the deaf to hear, even though they apprehend not? 42 And there are among them such as [pretend to] look towards thee: but canst thou show the right way to the blind even though they cannot see? 43 Indeed, Allah does not wrong the people at all, but it is the people who are wronging themselves. 44 And on the day when He shall gather them together, (when it will seem) as though they had tarried but an hour of the day, recognising one another, those will verily have perished who denied the meeting with Allah and were not guided. 45 Whether We let you see some of that with which We promised them, or We call you to Us, to Us they shall return. Allah is witness of the things they do. 46 Every nation has its Messenger. Then, when their Messenger comes the matter is justly decided between them; they are not wronged. 47 They ask, "If you (believers) speak the truth, when will your promise (about the Day of Judgment) be fulfilled?" 48 Say: "I have no power over any harm or profit to myself except as Allah willeth. To every people is a term appointed: when their term is reached, not an hour can they cause delay, nor (an hour) can they advance (it in anticipation)." 49 Say: Tell me if His punishment overtakes you by night or by day! what then is there of it that the guilty would hasten on? 50 Will you believe in it only after it has overtaken you, although it was your wish to hurry it on?" 51 Then it will be said to those who had wronged, "Taste the punishment of eternity; are you being recompensed except for what you used to earn?" 52 They seek to be informed by thee: "Is that true?" Say: "Aye! by my Lord! it is the very truth! and ye cannot frustrate it!" 53
