But nay! I swear by all that ye see 38 And by whatsoever you see not, 39 That it is indeed the speech of an illustrious messenger. 40 It is not poet's speech - little is it that ye believe! 41 Nor is it the speech of a soothsayer; how little do you ponder! 42 [it is] a revelation from the Sustainer of all the worlds. 43 And if he [i.e., the Prophets] had forged this Discourse and thereafter ascribed it to Us, 44 We would have seized him by the right hand; 45 then We would surely have cut his life-vein 46 and not one of you could have defended him. 47 Surely it is a Reminder to the godfearing; 48 We certainly know that some among you will give the lie to it, 49 it will be a source of bitter regret for those who deny the truth -- 50 And most surely it is the true certainty 51 Therefore-glorify the name of your Lord, the Great. 52
