The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 who give charity, 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, 6 (but whosoever seeks after more than that, those are the transgressors) 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
