Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In a Garden on high, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
