Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
