Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 labouring, weary, 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 and raised couches, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 and arranged cushions 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
