The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created of spurting water 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
