Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 In a high Garden 10 hearing there no babble; 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
