And a sign unto them is the dead land. We quicken it and thereout We bring forth grain, so that thereof they eat. 33 and We made therein gardens of palms and vines, and therein We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 so that they may consume the fruits and whatever their hands prepare. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Exaltations to Him who created pairs of all the things the earth produces and of themselves, and that of which they have no knowledge. 36 A sign for them is the night. From it We withdraw the day and they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (appointed). That is the Decree of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 And for the moon We have appointed mansions till she return like an old shrivelled palm-leaf. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit. 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 and created for them similar things to ride. 42 and if We will, We drown them, then none have they to cry to, neither are they delivered, 43 unless it be by an act of mercy from Us and a grant of life for a [further span of] time. 44 And when it is said unto them: fear that which is before you and that which is behind you, that haply ye may find mercy, they withdraw. 45 And there comes not to them a communication of the communications of their Lord but they turn aside from it. 46 And when it is said to them, 'Expend of that God has provided you,' the unbelievers say to the believers, 'What, shall we feed such a one whom, if God willed, He would feed? You are only in manifest error!' 47 And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?" 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 No (chance) will they then have, by will, to dispose (of their affairs), nor to return to their own people! 50
