Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
