Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 'And Exalted is the Majesty of our Lord: He has taken neither a wife nor a son. 3 Certainly the foolish among us say preposterous things of God. 4 And lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah - 5 But there were certain men from mankind who would take refuge with certain males from the jinn and they increased them in tyranny. 6 And that they thought as you think, that Allah would not raise anyone: 7 (The jinn continued saying): "We made our way towards heaven, but we found it filled with stern guards and a flame. 8 and that “we would take up stations in the heaven to try to hear but anyone who now attempts to listen finds a shooting meteor in wait for him”; 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 And of us there are some righteous, and of us are some otherwise; we have been following very diverse paths. 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 Some of us have surrendered (Muslims) and some of us have deviated. Those who surrendered sought the Right Path, 14 But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.' 15 If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 And the mosques are for Allah (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allah. 18 And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass." 19

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
