The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
