Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 separating one from another, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a known term? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
