Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
