Messengers! Eat of that which is good and do good deeds; I have knowledge of the things you do. 51 And verily this Brotherhood of yours is a single Brotherhood, and I am your Lord and Cherisher: therefore fear Me (and no other). 52 Yet they divided themselves into factions, each rejoicing in what they had. 53 So leave them in their error till a time. 54 Do they think that by what We aid them with of wealth and children, 55 We hasten in good works for them? No, they are not aware. 56 Lo! those who go in awe for fear of their Lord. 57 who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, 59 And those who give what they give and their hearts fear for they have to return to their Lord. 60 These race for the good things, and they shall win them in the race. 61 And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged. 62 Yet their hearts are oblivious of this; and besides, they are busy with other things, 63 Until, when We grasp those of them who lead a luxurious life with punishment, behold! They make humble invocation with a loud voice. 64 "Put a stop to your groaning now! Surely no help shall be provided to you from Us. 65 Surely My signs have been rehearsed unto you, and upon your heel ye were wont to draw back. 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Did they never ponder over this Word (of God)? Or has he (to wit, the Messenger) brought something the like of which did not come to their forefathers of yore? 68 Or do they not recognize their Messenger, and so deny him? 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition. 71 Or is it that you ask them a recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of those who provide sustenance. 72 And most surely you invite them to a right way. 73 But those who believe not in the Hereafter turn away from the straight path. 74 ۞ Even if We showed them mercy and relieved them of their afflictions, they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 (They are such) that We seized them with chastisement (and yet) they did not humble themselves before their Lord, nor do they entreat 76 until We opened the gate of greater torment (death) and they suddenly found themselves in despair. 77
