The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created of spurting water 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and so am I: 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
