The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
