Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven becomes cleft asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 who know all that you do: 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 and then shall never come out of it. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
