The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created the human being 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
