The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
