The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars darken, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the pages are made public 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
