Verily We bestowed Our favours on Moses and Aaron 114 and saved them and their people from great distress. 115 And helped them, so that they became the victors; 116 We gave them the explicit Book, 117 And showed them the straight path, 118 and We left them thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 119 "Peace and salutation to Moses and Aaron!" 120 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 121 for those two were truly among Our believing servants. 122 And verily, llyas was one of the sent ones. 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not fear Allah? 124 Do you worship Ba`al and abandon the Best Creator. 125 Allah is your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors of yore.” 126 They denied him, and will surely be brought to punishment, 127 except Allah's chosen servants. 128 We perpetuated his praise in the later generations. 129 Peace be upon Elias. 130 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 131 He was among Our believing worshipers. 132 And Lut was most surely of the apostles. 133 when We delivered him and his people all together, 134 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 and, verily, [to this day] you pass by the remnants of their dwellings at morning-time 137 Or at night. Then how is it you do not understand? 138
