The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 And they used to carve dwellings in the hills, without fear. 82 Then the Blast caught them in the morning 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them except with Truth. Surely the Hour will come. So, (O Muhammad), do graciously overlook them (despite their misdeeds). 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers 88 And say: Surely I am the plain warner. 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 Who have made the Qur'an into portions. 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 For all their deeds. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him). 98 And worship thy Lord until there cometh unto thee the certainty. 99
