Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and arranged cushions 15 And linen spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
