Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a high Garden. 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 raised couches, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions ranged 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
