(The tribe of) Thamud denied the messengers (of Allah) 141 When their brother Salih said unto them: fear ye not? 142 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you 143 So fear Allah and obey me. 144 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 145 “Will you be left peacefully in these favours over here?” 146 In gardens and fountains, 147 and cornfields, and palm-trees laden with fruit -- 148 and that you will [always be able to] hew dwellings out of the mountains with [the same] great skill?" 149 So fear God and obey me: 150 And obey not the command of the extravagant. 151 Who corrupt the land and do not reform it." 152 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 153 Thou art but a human being like unto us. So bring thou a sign if thou art of the truth-tellers. 154 He said, "Here is a she-camel. She shall have her turn of drinking, as you have yours, each on an appointed day, 155 And touch her not with ill lest there come on you the retribution of an awful day. 156 But they killed her, and then they became regretful. 157 But the Penalty seized them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 158 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
