The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
