We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 He utters not a word, but there is a vigilant watcher at hand. 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth; that is what you were trying to escape. 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown; that is the Day of the Threat. 20 And every soul cometh, along with it a driver and a witness. 21 Assuredly thou wast in neglect thereof; now We have removed from off thee thy veil, so thy sight Today is piercing. 22 And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!" 23 It will be said to the angels, “Both of you fling every excessive ungrateful, stubborn person into hell.” 24 Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 who set up with God another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.' 26 ۞ His companion will say: "O Lord, I did not lead him to wickedness, but he was himself far astray." 27 He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand: 28 “With Me, the decree does not change, and nor do I oppress the bondmen.” 29
