▼ 52 The Mountain

So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 Say thou: wait verily I am, with you, among the waiters. 31 Do their minds prompt them to say such things, or are they a people immersed in transgression?” 32 Do they say, "He has falsely invented it (the Quran)?" In fact, they themselves have no faith. 33 So let them bring a discourse like it, if they are truthful 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay! they have no certainty. 36 Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? 37 Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority. 38 Has (God) daughters and they sons? 39 Or askest thou a hire from them so that they are with debt laden? 40 Or, is the Unseen in their keeping, so they are writing it down? 41 Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war. 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the things they associate with Him! 43 If they should see a segment falling from the sky, they would say: "It is only a massive cloud." 44 So, leave them until they face their day (of doom) when they will be stunned. 45 The Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them. 46 The unjust will suffer other torments besides this but most of them do not know. 47 And wait thou patiently the judgment of thy Lord; verily thou art before Our eyes; and hallow the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest. 48 and proclaim the praise of thy Lord in the night, and at the declining of the stars. 49

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
