The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 arise and warn, 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 And thine inner self purify! 4 And all defilement shun! 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 but unto thy Sustainer turn in patience. 7 For when the trumpet shall sound, 8 Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day. 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 And for whom I appointed wealth extended. 12 and sons to be by his side, 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 He reflected and then hatched a scheme. 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 Again, death seize him, how he determined! 20 and then he looks [around for new arguments,] 21 frowned and scowled; 22 and he turned his back and behaved arrogantly 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 This is naught but the word of a mortal. 25 Him shall I soon roast in Hell. 26 And what knoweth thou that which the Scorching Fire? 27 It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], 28 and it burns the flesh. 29 Over it are nineteen keepers. 30 We have appointed none but angels as the keepers of the Fire, and We have not made their number but as a trial for the unbelievers so that those who have been endowed with the Book will be convinced and the believers' faith will increase, and neither those who have been endowed with the Book nor the believers will fall into any doubt. As for those in whose hearts there is a sickness as well as the unbelievers, they will say: “What did Allah aim at by this strange parable?” Thus does Allah let whomsoever He pleases to go astray, and directs whomsoever He pleases to the Right Way. And none knows the hosts of your Lord but He. (And Hell has only been mentioned here) that people may take heed. 31
