The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
