▼ 55 The All Compassionate
Al-Rahman 3 of 3
BUT FOR THOSE who of their Sustainer's Presence stand in fear, two gardens [of paradise are readied] 46 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 47 abounding in branches -- 48 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 49 In [each of] these two [gardens] two springs will flow. 50 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 51 In them there are pairs of each kind of fruit. 52 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 53 Reclining upon the couches lined with silk brocade, and the fruits of the two Gardens will be near at hand. 54 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 55 There will be bashful maidens untouched by mankind or jinn before. 56 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 57 As though rubies and pearls. 58 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 59 Is the reward of goodness aught save goodness? 60 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 61 And beside the two there will be two other Gardens. 62 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain beli? 63 The greenest of green pastures. 64 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 65 In both of them are two springs, spouting. 66 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 67 In both of them will be [all kinds of] fruit, and date-palms and pomegranates. 68 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 69 Wherein (are found) the good and beautiful - 70 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 71 Fair ones reserved in pavilions - 72 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 73 [companions] whom neither man nor invisible being will have touched ere then. 74 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 75 [In such a paradise will they dwell,] reclining upon meadows green and carpets rich in beauty. 76 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 77 Blessed be the Name of thy Lord, majestic, splendid. 78
