And said the chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people and belied the meeting of the Hereafter and whom We had luxuriated in the life of the world: this is no other than a human being like unto you; he eateth of that whereof ye eat, and he drinketh of that which ye drink. 33 So if you follow a man like yourself you will certainly be doomed. 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be brought forth? 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which ye are promised! 36 “There is nothing except our life of this world, we die and we live, and we are not to be raised.” 37 He is naught but a man who has forged against God a lie, and we will not believe him.' 38 He said: 'Help me, Lord, they belie me' 39 God replied, "After a very short time they will certainly regret for their deeds." 40 So the shriek seized them in truth, and We made them as [plant] stubble. Then away with the wrongdoing people. 41 After them We brought another generation into existence. 42 No people can hasten their term, nor can they delay (it). 43 then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time their messenger came to a people, they rejected him. So We destroyed them one after the other, and let them become mere tales. So away with the people who will not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear authority 45 unto Pharaoh and his Council; but they waxed proud, and they were a lofty people, 46 They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves, and their people are obedient to us with humility (and we use them to serve us as we like)." 47 So they cried them lies, and they were among the destroyed. 48 And We gave the Book to Moses so that they may be guided. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and gave them shelter on a peaceful hillside watered by a fresh spring. 50
