Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say, (O Prophet), it was revealed to me that a band of jinn attentively listened to (the recitation of the Qur'an) and then (went back to their people) and said: “We have indeed heard a wonderful Qur'an" 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 'And Exalted is the Majesty of our Lord: He has taken neither a wife nor a son. 3 And that the foolish amongst us used to forge extravagant things against Allah: 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 "Certain human beings sought refuge with certain jinn and this increased the rebelliousness of those jinn. 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 'And we have sought to reach the heaven; but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course. 10 And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: 11 And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed therein, and whoso believeth in his Lord, he feareth neither loss nor oppression. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 'But those who swerve,- they are (but) fuel for Hell-fire'- 15 And proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that ‘Had they remained upright on the straight path, We would have given them abundant water.’ 16 and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. 17 The mosques are for God's worship -- so do not invoke anyone else along with God -- 18 And when the slave of Allah stood up in prayer to Him, they crowded on him, almost stifling. 19
