And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose! That is the consideration of those who disbelieve! Then woe to those who disbelieve (in Islamic Monotheism) from the Fire! 27 Shall We make those who believe and work righteous works like unto the corrupters in the earth; or shall We make the God-fearing like unto the wicked! 28 A Book We have sent down to thee, Blessed, that men possessed of minds may ponder its signs and so remember. 29 And We gave unto David Solomon; how excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 30 When well-bred horses, which were fleet of foot were paraded before him near the close of day, 31 And he said: "Alas! I did love the good (these horses) instead of remembering my Lord (in my 'Asr prayer)" till the time was over, and (the sun) had hidden in the veil (of night). 32 Bring them back to me; so he began to slash (their) legs and necks. 33 Certainly We tried Solomon, and We cast upon his throne a mere body; then he repented. 34 He said, 'My Lord, forgive me, and give me a kingdom such as may not befall anyone after me; surely Thou art the All-giver.' 35 So We subjected to him the wind, that ran at his commandment, softly, wherever he might light on, 36 And [also] the devils [of jinn] - every builder and diver 37 and others that were bound with chains. 38 'This is Our gift; bestow or withhold without reckoning.' 39 In Our eyes he certainly has a high position and the best place to return. 40
