We have sent no Prophet to any city but that We seized its people with misery and hardship, that haply they might be humble; 94 Thereafter We substituted ease in place of adversity until they abounded and said: even Thus tribulation and prosperity touched our fathers. Then We laid hold of them of a sudden, while they perceived not. 95 Had the people of those towns believed in and feared God, We would have showered upon them blessings from heaven and earth, but they rejected the truth. So We seized them on account of their misdeeds. 96 Do the people of the cities feel secure Our might shall not come upon them at night while they are sleeping? 97 Or else did they feel secure against its coming in broad daylight while they played about (care-free)? 98 Can they remain secure against the plan of God? Only they feel secure against the plan of God who are certain of being ruined. 99

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
