Do not the people who inherited the earth from the (earlier) inhabitants perceive that We could afflict them too for their sins if We pleased, and put seals on their hearts that they may not hear (the voice of truth)? 100 Those were the towns whose story We relate unto you (O Muhammad SAW). And there came indeed to them their Messengers with clear proofs, but they were not such as to believe in that which they had rejected before. Thus Allah does seal up the hearts of the disbelievers (from each and every kind of religious guidance). 101 We did not find most of them true to their covenants; indeed We found most of them to be transgressors. 102 Then We sent, after them, Musa with Our signs unto Fir'awn and his chiefs, but they wronged them. Behold that wise was the end of the corrupters! 103 Moses said: O Pharaoh! Lo! I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds, 104 I must only speak what is true about God. I have brought you miracles from your Lord; therefore, let the children of Israel go free". 105 [Pharaoh] said, "If you have come with a sign, then bring it forth, if you should be of the truthful." 106 So he cast his staff; and behold, it was a serpent manifest. 107 And putting his hand in his bosom, withdrew it – so it shone brightly before the beholders. 108
