The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when souls are united, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
