The great ones among Pharaoh's people said: "Verily, this is indeed a sorcerer of great knowledge, 109 and said, "He wants to expel you from your land." They asked (others), " what is your opinion in the matter? 110 Then they advised Pharaoh: 'Put off Moses and his brother for a while, and send forth heralds to your cities 111 “To bring all the expert magicians to you.” 112 The magicians came to the Pharaoh and said: "Is there reward for us if we succeed?" 113 Pharaoh replied, "Certainly, and you shall also become my courtiers." 114 The magicians asked Moses, "Will you throw your staff first or shall we?" 115 He said, "You throw [first]!" When they made their cast, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struck them with awe, for they showed a great [feat of] magic. 116 And We inspired Moosa that, “Put forth your staff”; it immediately began swallowing up their fabrications. 117 ۞ Thus truth was confirmed, and all that they did was made of no effect. 118 And Pharaoh and his people were overcome right there and became debased. 119 And the sorcerers prostrated themselves 120 Crying: We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, 121 the Sustainer of Moses and Aaron!" 122 But Pharaoh said: "You have come to accept belief in Him without my permission! This surely is a plot you have hatched to expel the people from the land. You will soon come to know. 123 I will cut off your hands and feet on alternate sides and then crucify you all!" 124 They replied: 'We shall surely turn to our Lord. 125 You only take revenge on us because we believed in the Lord when we saw His miracles. Lord, grant us patience and let us die Muslims (submitted to God)." 126
