Believers, obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not turn away from him when you are hearing. 20 Be not as those who say, we hear, and they hear not. 21 ۞ The worst of creatures in the eyes of God are those who are deaf and dumb and devoid of sense. 22 And had Allah known in them any good He would surely, have made them hear; but (being as they, are) even if He made them hear, they would have surely turned away in aversion. 23 Believers, listen to God and the Messengers when they call you to that which gives you life. Know that God is between a man and his heart and that before Him you will all be brought together. 24 And beware of that temptation to evil which does not befall only those among you who are bent on denying the truth, to the exclusion of others; and know that God is severe in retribution. 25 And remember, when ye were few and reckoned feeble in the land, and were in fear lest men should extirpate you, how He gave you refuge, and strengthened you with His help, and made provision of good things for you, that haply ye might be thankful. 26 O you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence]. 27 And know that your riches and your children are but a temptation, and that verily Allah: with Him is a mighty hire. 28
