Assuredly Allah hath succoured you on many fields, and on the day of Hunain, when your number elated you; then it availed you naught, and the earth, wide as it is, straitened unto you; then ye turned away in retreat. 25 Then God sent down upon His Messenger His Shechina, and upon the believers, and He sent down legions you did not see, and He chastised the unbelievers; and that is the recompense of the unbelievers; 26 Then Allah will, thereafter, relent toward whomsoever He liketh, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 27 O believers, the idolaters are unclean. So they should not approach the Holy Mosque after this year. In case you fear indigence (from the stoppage of business with them), then God will enrich you of His bounty if He will, for God is all-knowing and all-wise. 28 Fight against those People of the Book who have no faith in God or the Day of Judgment, who do not consider unlawful what God and His Messenger have made unlawful, and who do not believe in the true religion, until they humbly pay tax with their own hands. 29
