Do not think Allah is heedless of the evil deeds in which the evil-doers are engaged. He is merely granting them respite until a Day when their eyes shall continue to stare in horror, 42 when they shall run with necks outstretched and heads erect, their glances never returned on themselves, their hearts void. 43 And warn mankind of the day when the chastisement comes on them, And those who did evil shall say, 'Our Lord, defer us to a near term, and we will answer Thy call, and follow the Messengers.' 'Ah, but did you not swear aforetime there should be no removing for you? 44 And ye dwell in the dwellings of those who had wronged themselves and it had become manifest unto you in what wise We had dealt with them, and We had propounded for you similitudes. 45 Still they are plotting their plots, but evident are their plots to God, even though they are so adroit as to make the mountains move. 46 So think not that Allah will fail to keep His Promise to His Messengers. Certainly, Allah is All-Mighty, - All-Able of Retribution. 47 On the Day whereon the earth will be changed into other than the earth, and the heavens also; and all creatures will appear unto Allah, the One, the Subduer. 48 On that Day you shall see the guilty ones secured in chains; 49 of pitch their shirts, their faces enveloped by the Fire, 50 That Allah may requite each soul (according to) what it has earned; surely Allah is swift in reckoning. 51 This is a clear message for mankind in order that they may be warned thereby, and that they may know that He is only One Allah, and that men of understanding may take heed. 52
