Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
And assuredly We have created human being from ringing clay of loam moulded. 26 while We had brought the jinn into being before out of blazing fire. 27 And recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 28 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 29 So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together 30 But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. 31 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What happened to you that you stayed apart from those who prostrated?” 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 And surely on you is curse until the day of judgment. 35 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 36 Allah said: "For sure you are granted respite 37 until the day of a known time." 38 Iblis said, "Lord, because you have caused me to go astray, I shall make earthly things attractive to (people) and mislead all of them 39 except the devoted amongst Your worshippers. 40 Said Allah, “This path* leads straight towards Me.” (* The path of the chosen bondmen.) 41 No power shall you have over (all) My creatures except those who fall into error and follow you, 42 Surely Hell is the promised place for all of them." 43 Unto it are seven portals; unto each portal is a portion of them assigned. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
