Man We fashioned from fermented clay dried tingling hard, 26 As We fashioned jinns before from intense radiated heat. 27 And lo! Thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create mortal man out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted; 28 So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. 29 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 30 except iblis (father of the jinn) who refused to be one of those who prostrated themselves. 31 Said He, 'What ails thee, Iblis, that thou art not among those bowing?' 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 And surely on you is curse until the day of judgment. 35 He said, “My Lord! Grant me respite till the day when they will all be raised.” 36 He said, "You are granted respite 37 "Till the Day of the Time appointed." 38 Iblis said, "Lord, because you have caused me to go astray, I shall make earthly things attractive to (people) and mislead all of them 39 Except the chosen ones among Your creatures." 40 Said He: "This is, with Me, a straight way: 41 over My worshipers you have no authority, except the perverse that follow you. 42 Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
