And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud. 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 and when I have formed him fully and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down before him in prostration! 29 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely, 30 But Satan did not; he refused to join those who prostrated themselves. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 Iblis prayed, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Judgment". 36 He said: Then lo! thou art of those reprieved 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 Iblis said, "Lord, because you have caused me to go astray, I shall make earthly things attractive to (people) and mislead all of them 39 "Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them." 40 Said Allah, “This path* leads straight towards Me.” (* The path of the chosen bondmen.) 41 No power shall you have over (all) My creatures except those who fall into error and follow you, 42 being perverse; Gehenna shall be their promised land all together. 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
