And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud. 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud. 28 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 29 All the angels prostrated before Adam 30 Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 The Lord inquired: "Iblis! What is the matter with you that you did not join those who prostrated?" 32 "How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?" 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 "And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment." 35 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 36 He said: Then lo! thou art of those reprieved 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 [Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 He said: This is a right course incumbent upon Me: 41 and you have no authority over My servants except the erring ones who follow you. 42 being perverse; Gehenna shall be their promised land all together. 43 It has seven gates; for each gate is a portion assigned from them. 44
